"An amazing spot for birders! If you are making the trip down to Point Pelee, then you owe it to yourself to stay at the Tern In. In addition to having a fantastic name, the Tern In is wonderfully bird-themed in every conceivable way, from bird-themed rooms to bird-themed place settings. In addition, the hosts are avid birders and offer guided walks through the National Park. My wife and I took them up on this offer and had an amazing time! The hosts know the Park like the back of their hands and can lead you to awesome birding spots that you likely wouldn't have discovered on your own. Location-wise, the Tern In is also well-situated. You can drive to the National Park in under 15 minutes and could probably cycle there quickly as well. The Tern In is also located within a short drive of several awesome wineries, which I recommend checking out! The hosts provided us with a full and delicious breakfast early in the morning to make sure that we were well-fed before heading out birding. All-in-all, staying at the Tern In helped make our trip the perfect weekend getaway! Would highly recommend."

"I loved staying at this place! Kelly and Heidi are excellent hosts; they are easy-going and make every effort to accommodate their guests. The room was very clean and comfortable and the house is close to Point Pelee National Park. If you are going there for bird-watching (like I did), this is an excellent place to stay. The hosts themselves are avid birders and guides."

"The Top Ten Reasons for Birders to turn in at the Tern In 1. The location is excellent, just a few minutes drive from the entrance to Point Pelee National Park - and all those birds. 2. Breakfast is outstanding and ready at any time you order it so you can go birding early. 3. Heidi and Kelly are accommodating hostesses, as well as being exceptionally keen birders and photographers. 4. They make awesome cakes. 5. Three, really nice rooms are available, each with a unique bird theme. There are multiple, well-stocked, and well-used, bird feeders at the front and back of the house, so - you can bird really early – and really late. 6. Heidi and Kelly make a new (awesome) cake every day. 7. They are a fountain of local birding knowledge and have a great network of local contacts. 8. They put out plastic wrap every morning so you can take multiple slices of the daily awesome cake with you into the park. 9. Heidi and Kelly are totally fun people. (Hey, anybody who wears camo. can’t be all that serious!) 10. Did we mention the awesome cakes?"

“Kelly and the place were both fantastic. The place was super clean, quiet and attractive. A large backyard and a great view of the lake from the front. A quick drive to Point Pelee National Park and some great eating spots. Our Owl Room was quiet and filled with arresting photography taken by our hosts, with a fireplace, privacy and a cozy bed. We slept like champions. Breakfast was gorgeous and delicious. Kelly was fun, helpful and we exchanged plenty of stories and humour in between coming, going and relaxing. Soon the Camo girls will offer guided hikes, birding and wine tours, as well as other treats related to birding. We left with a bunch of homemade desserts and anticipation of the lasagna next time. We highly recommend staying here and will do so again ourselves.”

“We had a great experience! Our hosts were super friendly and very helpful in answering our questions about the area. We felt welcome immediately. The breakfast was delicious and our room was lovely - clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was convenient to Point Pelee Park, Leamington and the wine tours. We had a lot of fun, even though our stay was short. We will definitely stay here again!

“Stayed there a few days and just loved it. The ladies were great hostesses, the food was amazing and it is so close to all amenities. The ferry to Pelee Island was close by and also the National Park. It was a home away from home. Will definetly stay there again.”
